HOW I GOT STARTED WITH EPOXY
My passion for epoxy began when a friend wanted my help updating a countertop for use in his retail store. It turned out so beautiful that I began refinishing my own table tops & countertops at home, as well as creating some fun pieces for the walls. One of my favorite projects was covering 2 complete walls in a TINY half bath (See photos) - it completely transformed the room! Wonderful comments about these transformed surfaces came from friends (along with requests to do their countertops) and from prospective buyers when we sold the house.
GOING FROM FLAT WORK TO SHAPED PIECES
While doing a tabletop for a friend, I decided to experiment with shaping epoxy into a vase to complement his newly refinished table. Creating that beautiful vase fueled my passion for epoxy. His reaction when he picked it up was to encourage me to go into business.
EVERY PIECE IS ONE OF A KIND
I am committed to creating custom one-of-a-kind pieces. With that in mind, I do not use any commercial kits or molds for my designs. Even though there are a lot of kits on the market for creating objects with epoxy, I believe using a kit would simply result in duplicates that are common. Each of my pieces are unique and I hope you find them extraordinary.
A LITTLE BIT ABOUT US
Jewels Epoxy is a small, 1 person operation. If you saw my work shop, you might imagine a mad scientist- all of the molds I use are hand crafted by me (see photos above). Tubes, pipes, straws, pipe insulation, bubble wrap, plastic sheets, blow dryers & torches are just some of the tools I use to create this art. As a 1 person show, I have the capacity to create 3 to 5 pieces per day.
I hope you enjoy browsing and would be delighted if you make one of these your own.
